The history of Hollywood High School dates back to 1903. A school was opened on the second floor of a barn at the Masonic Temple. The school had only two rooms. At that time, Hollywood was not yet part of Los Angeles. The future popular neighborhood was incorporated as a municipality in 1903.

The educational institution underwent many trials. Most of all, the school was damaged after the earthquake. The premises of Hollywood High School were restored. The massive concrete building is considered one of the most beautiful schools in Southern California.

However, it is not the walls that make this school famous, but its celebrated alumni. Indeed, many future artists have studied at Hollywood High School.
